The science based exhibition took the visitor on a journey from the familiarity of the Hauraki Gulf and Auckland's coastline, through the strange and unknown depths of the Kermadec Trench and up onto The Kermadec Islands situated to the NE of New Zealand.

Opening in June of 2013 the science based exhibition took the visitor on a journey from the familiarity of the Hauraki Gulf and Auckland's coastline, through the strange and unknown depths of the Kermadec Trench and up onto The Kermadec Islands situated to the NE of

New Zealand. The exhibition was made up of multiple unique architectural environments, both physical and digital interactive elements and focused largely on the museum's weird and wonderful specimen collection from the area.
